Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of giving Moringa leaf extract (Moringa oleifera Lam) in drinking water on energy and protein intake and digestibility of pregnant sows.The material used  were 12 first parity pregnant sows, with a body weight of 120-125 kg, an average of 122.5 kg and a coefficient of variation of 1.46%. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments  were  P0: drinking water without a solution of Moringa leaves, P1: a solution of Moringa leaves 5ml/day, P2: A solution of Moringa leaves 10ml/day and P3: A solution of Moringa leaves 15ml/day. The variables studied were feed intake, protein and energi intake  , protein and energi digestibility, . The results of this study showed that supplementation of Moringa leaf solution in drinking water had no significant effect (P>0.05) on intake and digestibility of protein and energy. Thus, it can be concluded that the supplementation of different levels of Moringa leaf solution (Moringa oleifera Lam) in drinking water of pregnant sows  gave relatively same effect on energy and protein intake and digestibility.

Tujuan penelitian  ini adalah  untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian ekstrak daun kelor (Moringa oleifera Lam) dalam air minum terhadap konsumsi dan kecernaan  energy dan protein induk babi bunting.  Materi yang digunakan adalah 12 ekor babi bunting paritas pertama, dengan berat badan berkisar antara120-125 kg, rata-rata 122,5 kg dan koefisien variasi 1,46%. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan Acak Lengkap dengan 4 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Perlakuan yang digunakan yaitu P0: air minum tanpa larutan kelor, P1: larutan kelor 5ml/hari, P2: larutan kelor 10 ml/hari dan P3: larutan kelor 15ml/hari. Variabel yang diteliti yaitu konsumsi ransum, konsumsi dan  kecernaan protein dan energi  Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penambahan larutan kelor dalam air minum berpengaruh tidak nyata (P>0.05) terhadap konsumsi dan kecernaan protein dan energi. Oleh sebab itu dapat disimpulkan pemberian larutan kelor dalam air minum ternak induk babi bunting dengan level yang berbeda (5ml/hari 10ml/hari dan 15ml/hari) memberikan pengaruh yang relatife sama terhadap konsumsi dan kecernaan energi dan protein.
