Abstract

The use of fermented tamarind seed flour in the ration aims to measure the performance and income over feed cost of pigs during the starter period. Using 12 male landrace breeds that have been castrated and females aged 1.5-2 months with an initial weight of 5-14kg with an average of 8.62kg; (Coefficient of Variation = 38.22%). Using Group Design with 4 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments tested were R0; rations without fermented tamarind seed flour; R1; the ration contains 15% fermented tamarind flour; R2; the ration contains 20% fermented tamarind seed flour; and R3; the ration contains 25% fermented tamarind seed flour. The variables studied were: ration consumption, body weight gain, ration conversion and income over feed cost. The results of the analysis of variance showed that the use of fermented tamarind seed flour had no significant effect (P>0.05) on the performance and income over feed cost of pigs. It can be concluded that the administration of fermented tamarind seed flour at the level of 15%, 20%, and 25% in the ration did not affect the ration consumption, body weight gain, ration conversion but could increase the value of income over feed cost.

Penggunaan tepung biji asam terfermentasi dalam ransum bertujuan untuk mengukur performa dan income over feed cost pada ternak babi periode starter. Menggunakan 12 ekor ternak keturunan landrace jantan yang telah dikastrasi dan betina berusia 1,5-2 bulan dengan bobot awal 5-14kg dengan rataan 8,62kg; (Koefisien Variasi= 38,22%). Menggunakan Rancangan Kelompok dengan 4 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Perlakuan yang di uji adalah R0; ransum tanpa tepung biji asam fermentasi; R1; ransum mengandung 15% tepung biji asam terfermentasi; R2; ransum mengandung 20% tepung biji asam terfermentasi; dan R3; ransum mengandung 25% tepung biji asam terfermentasi. Variabel yang diteliti adalah: konsumsi ransum, pertambahan bobot badan, konversi ransum dan income over feed cost. Hasil analisis ragam menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan tepung biji asam terfermentasi tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05) terhadap performa dan income over feed cost ternak babi. Dapat di simpulkan bahwa pemberian tepung biji asam terfermentasi pada level 15%, 20%, dan 25% dalam ransum tidak memengaruhi konsumsi ransum, pertambahan bobot badan, konversi ransum namun dapat meningkatkan nilai income over feed cost.
