Pelatihan Pembuatan Pupuk Bokasi sebagai Upaya Peningkatan Kemandirian Peternak di Desa Ponain, Kecamatan Amarasi, Kabupaten Kupang

The availability of chemical fertilizers is increasingly stepped and the price is relatively expensive, resulting in Ponain Village farmers utilizing environmentally friendly technology, namely the use of bokasi fertilizer. This Community Service activity intends to conduct training in making cow dung waste into organic fertilizer, namely bokashi fertilizer in an effort to increase the independence of farmers in Ponain Village, Amarasi District, Kupang Regency. Bokashi fertilizer is an organic fertilizer produced from fermentation of manure by utilizing the help of decomposing microorganisms such as microbes or fermenter fungi. As a result, the use of EM (Effective Microorganisms) bokashi fertilizer is an alternative that is applied to farmers today and is a step to support government programs towards organic farming. The implementation method includes 4 stages of work, namely the survey stage, the socialization stage, the training stage and the mentoring stage. The results of the Community Service activities have produced 500 kg of bokashi fertilizer which is ready to be used in meeting the fertilizer needs of livestock farmers in Ponain Village. This activity also provides benefits for farmers, including farmers understanding very well in making bokashi fertilizer and the benefits of using organic fertilizer (bokashi fertilizer). In addition, it can also provide knowledge and skills for farmers in utilizing organic fertilizers to improve soil fertility.
