The Workshop Penggunaan Manajemen Referensi Software Zotero bagi Dosen dan Mahasiswa dalam Penulisan Karya Ilmiah

Abstract

The purpose of this workshop is to introduce and train lecturers and students in using the management reference software of Zotero in writing scientific papers. This workshop will be held on October 21, 2021, through a zoom meeting conference and live streaming on YouTube. Workshop participants are lecturers and students of the Animal Science Study Program, Faculty of Animal Science, Marine and Fisheries, Universitas Nusa Cendana. The stages of implementation are divided into three stages, namely the first stage of the initial survey of the introduction of software reference management to lecturers and students, the second stage of the implementation of the Zotero software reference management introduction workshop, and the third stage of evaluating the level of participant satisfaction, and the fourth stage is the evaluation of the participants level of understanding. The results obtained in the first stage show that 60% of the animal science study program students are familiar with software reference management but only 17.10% are familiar with Zotero, 54.30% still do not use it and 25.70% reference management software is easy to use. The condition of the lecturers is that 55.60% are familiar with software reference management and only 5.6% are familiar with Zotero software reference management, 38.90% of lecturers advise students to use software reference management and 83.30% of lecturers have difficulty applying it to students. The second stage of the workshop was attended by 20 people consisting of lecturers and students who were followed through a virtual zoom meeting conference and live streaming on YouTube. The third stage of evaluating the level of understanding of participants showed that there was an increase of ±12% from lecturers and ±0.6% for students related to the use of Zotero software reference management. The fourth stage of the presentation of speakers 47.83% understood, 43.48% of discussion forums helped participants, 56.52% of participants had an understanding of using Zotero software reference management after attending the workshop 43.48% had a level of satisfaction. The conclusion after attending the workshop, lecturers and students have a level of understanding in using Zotero software reference management and a level of satisfaction from the implementation of the workshop both in terms of presentation of speakers, level of understanding through discussion forums, evaluation of understanding after the workshop, and level of satisfaction after the workshop.
