Pemberdayaan Kelompok Tani Ratna Cempaka Desa Oben Kecamatan Nekamese, Kabupatrn Kupang melalui Pelatihan Pembuatan VCO

Abstract

Virgin coconut oil (VCO) is oil obtained from the extraction of fresh coconuts which is processed in various ways. This VCO oil has a high selling value and is useful for health. This VCO is what the head of the Ratna Cempaka Farmer Group is looking at, considering that the potential of coconut trees in her village is quite adequate. He wants his group members to be trained to be able to produce VCO, because in his village there are no VCO craftsmen. This was conveyed when the team visited the Head of the Farmers Group. Referring to that, it was agreed to carry out PKM activities through training with the main material on the technique of making VCO from fresh coconut flesh. This PKM activity method is carried out through training using the lecture method, demonstration and practice of making VCO. The results of the activity show that this training as a whole has been able to empower members of the Ratna Cempaka farmer group, Oben Village, Nekamese District, Kupang Regency. Indicators that can reflect this are that group members have: 1) increased their knowledge and skills in processing coconut flesh into VCO, 2) know VCO is beneficial for health and has the opportunity as an alternative business in improving the family economy, 3) able to produce VCO by using the VCO method. independently, and 4) able to sell more than 1 liter of VCO produced at a price of IDR 25,000/100 ml after a few days of training.
