Pelatihan Pengolahan Kompos dan Bokashi bagi Siswa SMKN Kualin di Dusun Binlaka, Kabupaten Kupang

Increasing in knowledge, understanding and skills of students who worked in field, about how to process compost and bokashi by utilizing livestock feces is very limited. An understanding of compost and bokashi is necessary, because most of these students fulfill their life needs from farming or agriculture. This training was conducted to increase their knowledge and skills regarding compost and bokashi processing. The 12 students from Kualin Agricultural High School were as participants in this training activity. The training methods used were observation, counseling and practicum. The bokashi made was harvested within 3 weeks, while the compost is harvested within 3 months (± 90 days). The bokashi harvested is blackish brown in color, does not smell bad and has a slightly rough texture compared to kitchen ash. The color of the compost is browner with a coarser texture and faintly smells of feces compared to bokashi. The training conducted is able to increase the knowledge, understanding and skills of the students about how to make compost and bokashi and its use for plant growth.
